Karachi (Special Correspondent Hum Samaj) On the occasion of World Radio Day on February 13, International Radio Listeners Organization Pakistan organized events around the world on World Radio Day in which radio listeners participated in full. Events were organized in connection with World Radio Day all over the world including Pakistan.
International Radio Listeners Organization Pakistan as usual this time also gave appreciation certificates and commemorative shields to radio personalities, radio listeners and DXers around the world.
International Radio Listeners Organization Pakistan organized a World Radio Listeners Conference on the occasion of World Radio Day by making full use of modern technology all members and officials of IRLO Pakistan from all over the world and radio related people from many countries participated in conference. Many most popular personalities also participated in the conference, Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, a well-known politician of Pakistan and a well-known figure in Pakistan-China relations, sent a message that he was the first DXer of Pakistan who formally founded the DX Club in Lahore in 1968. I attended last year’s conference and feel very good that there is still a large number of radio listeners. Speaking at the conference, the well-known host of China Radio International, Zabir Bashir, said that the steps taken by Irlo Pakistan for the development and welfare of radio are admirable.
Raza Ali Abidi, the well-known broadcaster of BBC Urdu Service, specially participated in the conference from London. He expressed his happiness while expressing himself in the conference. Appreciated Irlo’s radio activities and said that I was encouraged to see that even in this era, people have a large number of radios and listen to them. During the conference, on the request of Aqeel Basheer official of Irlo Pakistan, Mr. Raza Ali Abidi read artificial news in his own style, on which all the participants of the conference applauded him.
On behalf of International Radio Listeners Organization Pakistan, large events were organized by Ijaz Karim and Salim Akhtar Chadhar in Sheikhupura and Chiniot where hundreds of radio sets of different models and items received by many international broadcasting organizations were exhibited in the events.
Founder Chairman of International Radio Listeners Organization Pakistan Mr. Arshad Qureshi and Member Advisory Committee Mr. Maher Abdul Sattar Salafi paid great tribute to all the members and officials of International Radio Listeners Organization Pakistan who celebrated World Radio Day with great enthusiasm in their respective cities.
International Radio Listeners Organization Pakistan released a video based on the special message of Arshad Qureshi, the founder chairman of the organization, on the occasion of World Radio Day. Mr. Qureshi said number of shortwave radio listeners continues to grow today, as the production and demand for digital radio has increased worldwide. Even today, the leaders of the developed countries of the world address their people through radio.
Mr. Qureshi pay thanked to all the broadcasters who contacted the members and officials of Irlo Pakistan on World Radio Day and for their efforts. At the end of the ceremony, he prayed for forgiveness for the personalities associated with radio who passed away last year, including famous radio listener Israr Chaudhary.
